Prime Video Announces Reacher Season 4 Premiere and Neagley Spin-off Debut Dates

Season 4 adds Agnez Mo and Anggun (Indonesian singers) along with Kathleen Robertson (The Expanse) and Kevin Corrigan (Poker Face) to the cast, expanding the ensemble beyond the previously announced returning actors.
Peter Friedlander, Prime Video's head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, called Reacher a 'true powerhouse franchise.'
Neagley spin-off centers on Frances Neagley investigating the suspicious death of a friend, giving Maria Sten a lead role to expand beyond her supporting status; Sten said she's excited to 'dive deeper' into the character but there's 'a lot of pressure' to honor the books and Reacher's world.
Season 4 is set in New York City amid the threat of a terrorist attack, providing a high-stakes backdrop for Reacher’s mission.
Prime Video has locked in a back-to-back launch that turns the rest of summer 2026 into a "Reacher-verse" event. Deadline confirmed that Reacher Season 4 premieres August 12, followed by the Neagley spin-off on September 16 — just one week after the Season 4 finale airs.
The spin-off stars Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, who steps out of a supporting role and into her own eight-episode series. Amazon MGM Studios head of global TV Peter Friedlander called Reacher "a true powerhouse franchise" — and backed it up by renewing Season 5 before Season 4 has even launched.
Season 4 is based on Lee Child's Gone Tomorrow, set in New York City against the threat of a terrorist attack. The first three episodes drop at once on August 12. After that, new episodes arrive every Wednesday, with the finale landing on September 9, TVLine reported.
Alan Ritchson returns as Jack Reacher, with Nick Santora back as showrunner. New cast members include Kathleen Robertson from The Expanse, Kevin Corrigan from Poker Face, and Indonesian pop stars Agnez Mo and Anggun. Amazon is clearly targeting international audiences, especially in Southeast Asia, with those last two additions.
Deadline reports all eight episodes of Neagley will be available starting September 16. That is exactly one week after the Reacher Season 4 finale — a deliberate move to keep viewers subscribed and engaged through the fall.
The spin-off follows Frances Neagley as she investigates the suspicious death of a friend. Maria Sten said she is excited to "dive deeper into what makes Neagley tick outside of Jack's shadow," but admits there is "a lot of pressure" to honor both the books and Reacher's world, according to Yahoo News.
By scheduling Neagley one week after the Season 4 finale, Prime Video is building a three-month continuous "Reacher" window: August 12 through mid-October. Industry analysts say the strategy is designed to cut subscriber churn — the practice of canceling after finishing a show — by chaining the two series together.
The bet appears confident. Amazon renewed Reacher for Season 5 before Season 4 has aired a single episode. Friedlander's "powerhouse franchise" comment signals the studio sees Reacher the way it sees The Boys — as a permanent, reliable viewership floor. Reacher Season 2 alone drew 1.57 billion minutes of viewing in its first full week, per Nielsen.
Frances Neagley is one of the few characters who appears repeatedly across Lee Child's novels. Her appeal comes from a "no-contact" personality and sharp technical skills — a very different kind of action lead. Fans have a deep attachment to the character, which is exactly what makes Sten's job hard.
Sten and the producers acknowledge the stakes. Nick Santora remains executive producer on both shows, which should keep the tone consistent across both series, Head Top Topics noted. If Neagley succeeds as a solo lead, it could open the door to more spin-offs built around other characters from the Reacher universe.
