Michigan Coach Kyle Whittingham Addresses Bryce Underwood Starting Job Security

Michigan football coach Kyle Whittingham has acknowledged that starting jobs, including the quarterback Bryce Underwood, are not "infinite" and that there is a process to making a change. Despite Underwood's performance in the season opener being questioned, Whittingingham is not ready to panic. He emphasized that the team needs to see improvement, not just Underwood. He also acknowledged that Underwood is working under a new offensive coordinator, Jason Beck, and an entirely new staff. Freshman Tommy Carr is Underwood’s backup. Whittingam praised Carr for his calm demeanor and ability to adjust to the game.
