The scripted season begins Sept. 17 with a two-hour premiere of The Traitors: New Blood, an all-civilian edition of the hit reality franchise hosted by Alan Cumming.
The network is also marking a historic milestone: NBC turns 100 in 2026, and it will celebrate with a three-hour variety special on Dec. 10, Tell-Tale TV reported. To make room for the new slate, NBC canceled 10 shows in June 2026.
The Traitors Goes Civilian in a Big Season Opener
The Traitors: New Blood ditches celebrities entirely. Instead, 22 everyday Americans — chosen from more than 60,000 applicants — compete in the Scottish Highlands for a $250,000 prize, according to Vital Thrills. Host Alan Cumming said in a teaser: "By order of the Traitors, your presence is requested." The show gets two back-to-back two-hour premieres, on Sept. 17 and Sept. 24, before shifting to a one-hour slot starting Oct. 8, TheWrap reported.
The Voice Returns for Season 30 With Star-Studded Coaches
The Voice Season 30 premieres Sept. 21 with a two-hour special at 8:00 p.m. Veterans Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine return to their chairs. They are joined by newcomers Queen Latifah and Riley Green, Deadline reported. Queen Latifah's signing was described by the network as "Royalty entering the stage."
Right after The Voice, NBC launches its new drama Line of Fire at 10:00 p.m. The show stars Peter Krause and Hope Davis as law-enforcement family members caught up in a conspiracy. Jenna Bush Hager serves as executive producer, TODAY reported. Krause called it a "family drama" — his first major TV role since leaving 9-1-1 in 2025.

The One Chicago block returns Oct. 7. Chicago Med airs at 8:00 p.m., Chicago Fire at 9:00 p.m., and Chicago P.D. at 10:00 p.m., according to Showbiz Junkies. The following night, Oct. 8, brings Law & Order: SVU Season 28 at 9:00 p.m. and the Law & Order mothership in a new 10:00 p.m. slot.
NBC's comedy block expands later in the fall. Reba McEntire's Happy's Place Season 3 opens Oct. 23 at 8:00 p.m., followed by the new series Newlyweds at 8:30 p.m. Then on Nov. 2, St. Denis Medical and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins return on Mondays, pushing The Voice to a 9:00 p.m. slot, TheWrap noted.
Midseason Reboots and a Centennial Celebration Cap the Season
Two scripted shows are held for midseason. The Rockford Files, starring David Boreanaz, debuts in January 2027. Sunset P.I., with Jake Johnson and Jane Levy, follows in February 2027, NBCUniversal Media confirmed. NBC President of Scripted Content Lisa Katz said the network wanted a prime 8:00 p.m. slot for The Rockford Files — one that was unavailable in the fall, Variety reported.
Boreanaz sought out the blessing of original star James Garner's daughter before taking the role, saying: "I want to make James Garner proud while still doing my own take on the character." Before the midseason debuts, NBC will air the 100th edition of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Nov. 26, then close out 2026 with its three-hour 100th anniversary special on Dec. 10, celebrating the network's founding in 1926.
