BlackRock ETHA leads $216M Ether ETF inflows as crypto markets face pressure.

Ethereum’s $216.4 million in ETF inflows on Sept. 11 reversed a $29.9 million net outflow recorded by spot Ether funds the previous day.
August U.S. CPI rose 0.4% month over month and 3.4% year over year; core CPI increased 0.3% monthly, while producer prices rose 0.4% monthly and 5.4% annually. CME FedWatch consequently put the probability of a quarter-point September rate increase at 87%, up from 72% a day earlier.
Analyst Ali Charts said Ethereum’s 12-hour triangle pattern resembles an earlier setup that preceded a 31% gain in three days, and suggested a breakout could propel ETH toward $3,000—though the target was not presented as certain.
The U.S. spot Ether ETF sector reached approximately $16.31 billion in net assets, equivalent to 5.28% of Ethereum’s market capitalization, while combined ETF trading volume was about $2.56 billion on Sept. 11.
IBIT’s $19.23 million redemption was part of roughly $463 million in category-wide outflows from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs over the four trading days from Sept. 8 through Sept. 11. The redemptions are processed through Coinbase Prime, IBIT’s custodian, when shareholders exit; they do not represent BlackRock independently deciding to sell Bitcoin.
BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) dominated U.S. spot Ether ETF inflows on September 11, capturing $148.8 million of a $216.4 million category-wide surge — nearly 69% of the total. The rally reversed a $29.9 million outflow the previous day, driven partly by hot inflation data that raised expectations for a Federal Reserve rate hike CryptoNews.
Ethereum traded near $2,500 as investors watched for a weekly close above $2,550, with support holding around $2,400. ETHA's cumulative net inflows reached roughly $13 billion, while BlackRock's newer staking ETF (ETHB) sat at $1.05 billion despite 20 consecutive days without an outflow CryptoInsider.
U.S. inflation data released on September 11 pressured risk assets across markets. August CPI rose 0.4% month-over-month and 3.4% year-over-year, while core CPI climbed 0.3% monthly CryptoNews. CME FedWatch immediately repriced Fed rate expectations, jumping the probability of a September quarter-point hike to 87% from 72% a day earlier.
Higher Treasury yields and tighter monetary-policy expectations created headwinds for crypto. Yet institutional buyers still stepped in on the dip, suggesting conviction that Ethereum's long-term value remained intact despite near-term macro pressure CryptoNews.
ETHA's $8.96 billion in assets dwarfs BlackRock's newer staking product (ETHB) at $1.05 billion, a roughly 8-to-1 gap. ETHA trades about 30 times more volume than ETHB daily CryptoNews. Market data shows institutional investors still prefer classic non-staking vehicles over yield-bearing alternatives, despite ETHB's appeal.
ETHB did post 20 straight days of inflows totaling $307.72 million, with no single day of redemptions. Yet this streak has not translated into market-share gains or reduced ETHA's dominance CryptoInsider. Liquidity and execution ease remain paramount for institutions managing large allocations.
While Ethereum ETFs attracted capital, Bitcoin's spot ETFs stumbled. From September 8 through September 11, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $463 million in category-wide outflows over four trading days CryptoNews. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) alone recorded a $19.23 million redemption, representing just 0.03% of its $60+ billion asset base.
These redemptions happen when shareholders exit positions, not from BlackRock independently selling Bitcoin. Coinbase Prime, the custodian, processes the outflows automatically CryptoNews. The divergence between Bitcoin and Ethereum flows suggests investors rotated capital toward Ethereum's perceived growth potential.
Analyst Ali Charts identified a 12-hour triangle pattern on Ethereum's price chart resembling a prior setup that triggered a 31% rally in three days CryptoNews. If Ethereum breaks out, Charts suggested a move toward $3,000 was possible — though he did not present it as certain.
The $2,550 weekly resistance level remains the key hurdle. Support sits near $2,400. The sector's total Ether ETF net assets hit approximately $16.31 billion, representing 5.28% of Ethereum's entire market cap CryptoInsider.
