Death investigation underway at Mattapan home owned by Rep. Pressley's husband

The Malta Street property was built in 1910 and is currently listed for sale at about $1.15 million.
Ownership is attributed to Conan Harris, Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s husband, with Pressley stating she is not personally the landlord of the home.
Conan Harris has a public-safety background in Boston, having served as senior public-safety adviser at City Hall and later forming his own consulting firm in 2019.
Some outlets have reported prior police activity at the property, including a raid about two months earlier, with tenants described as living on multiple floors (including high-school–aged teenagers).
Officials have not released the deceased’s identity and there is no indication of foul play at this stage, according to reports.
Boston police found a body inside a Mattapan rental home owned by Conan Harris, the husband of U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley, on Saturday afternoon. Officers responded to 25 Malta Street at around 1:50 p.m. for an "investigate person" call, according to People and Yahoo News.
The Boston Police Department's Homicide Unit is now leading the investigation to determine the cause and circumstances of the death. Officials have not released the identity of the deceased. There is no indication of foul play at this stage, Newsy Today reported.
The Malta Street home is a multi-family property built in 1910. It spans about 2,713 square feet with eight bedrooms and four bathrooms. The home is currently listed for sale at $1.15 million, with an assessed value around $919,000 to $920,000, according to Yahoo News.
The property operates as a rental. People reported that tenants live on multiple floors, including high-school-aged teenagers. Pressley's office has clarified that she is not personally the landlord. Ownership is attributed solely to her husband, Conan Harris.
Conan Harris has deep ties to Boston's public-safety world. He served as a senior public-safety adviser at Boston City Hall. In 2019, he left to start his own consulting firm, according to AOL News.
Harris has been married to Rep. Pressley since 2014. Pressley represents Massachusetts's 7th Congressional District. The couple does not appear to use the Malta Street property as their primary residence, based on available reports from Newsy Today.
Some outlets have noted this is not the first time police have visited 25 Malta Street. Twitchy reported a raid at the property roughly two months before Saturday's incident. It is not yet clear if that earlier activity is connected to the current death investigation.
Police have not released the name of the person found dead. Authorities have not confirmed a cause of death. The Homicide Unit's involvement is standard procedure for any unattended or unexplained death, not necessarily a sign of foul play, Newsy Today noted.
Pressley's office has not issued a public statement about the incident. No arrests have been reported. Boston police have not said when they expect to release further details, according to Yahoo News.
