Pro-Palestine Activists Convicted of Criminal Damage After Targeting Picasso Painting

Pro-Palestinian activists, Jai Halai and Monday-Malachi Rosenfeld, have been convicted of criminal damage for targeting a Picasso masterpiece at the National Gallery in London. They targeted the artwork by placing a picture of a Gazan mother and child over it and dumping red paint on the gallery floor. While they were found guilty, they will not be going to prison. The judge stated that the actions were intended to raise awareness for innocent civilians in Gaza during the Israel-Hamas war. Both men admitted that their actions were a political statement and did not cause any damage to the artwork.
