AI Startup Instinct Raises $1 Billion in Series C Funding at $10 Billion Valuation

Instinct raised $1 billion in a Series C round led by Sequoia Capital, Benchmark Capital and Coatue, valuing the San Francisco startup at $10 billion. The company’s early-access personal AI agent takes requests by text or phone and uses its own phone and computer to handle tasks such as booking travel, ordering groceries, making calls and canceling subscriptions; newer features include a concierge service and tools for coordinating with other users’ agents. The rapid fundraising reflects growing investor interest in AI agents that act on users’ behalf, but Instinct faces competition from Meta’s Muse and questions about how much personal information such services require, after concerns about Instinct’s initial privacy policy.
The $1 billion round followed a separate fundraise valuing Instinct at $2.5 billion just a month earlier; Instinct’s invite-only service had launched in August 2026.
Instinct says its agent can connect with users’ email, messaging, screen, audio and location, and can proactively follow up on dropped threads or contact the user.
Meta’s Muse can draw on Meta’s social products to monitor and summarize users’ Instagram direct messages and Facebook activity, capabilities that distinguish it from Instinct.
