Nearly 40,000 bottles of Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief are being recalled due to sterility concerns. Fox 11 Online reports that Prestige Consumer Healthcare, the New York-based parent company, initiated the voluntary recall for 15-milliliter bottles with lot number 2552A and an expiration date of September 30, 2027. The recalled bottles were distributed nationwide.
The FDA classified this as a Class II recall, meaning the product could cause temporary or medically reversible health problems. Local 12 notes that the lack of sterility assurance prompted the urgent recall action to protect consumers who may have purchased these eye drops.
The recalled product is Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief in 15-milliliter bottles. Turn to 10 reports the specific lot number 2552A with an expiration date of September 30, 2027. These bottles failed to meet sterility standards, meaning bacteria or other harmful particles could be present in the eye drops.
