NHTSA Recalls 328K Jeeps Over Rear Coil Spring Detachment Risk

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recalled 328,381 Jeeps due to the issue of incorrectly installing rear coil springs, which can come off while driving. Dealers will replace the rear coil spring lower isolators at no cost. This recall replaces two previous recalls and any Jeeps already repaired under those will need this repair. Drivers will receive a letter informing them of the problem after Sept. 29 and a second once the repair is available. For more information, call Chrysler at 800-853-1403 or the NHTSA's internal recall number is 89D.
