Rising jockey Daniel King earns high praise following impressive double success at Galway

Daniel King, a young jockey from Kilbrin, Ireland, has emerged as one of the sport's brightest rising talents. The former 16-year-old apprentice under Denis Hogan has already racked up multiple winners at major races, including a rare double at Galway Hertfordshire Advertiser that hadn't been achieved since 1984.
King started his career as a 16-year-old apprentice jockey with trainer Denis Hogan. He quickly proved his abilities by riding three winners at Ballybrit, a major racing venue Bury Times. His wins came across multiple top trainers, showing he was trusted beyond just his starting yard.
King achieved a significant milestone by riding two winners at the Galway races Bournemouth Echo. He won on King Alexander in the Plate for Willie Mullins and Putapoundinthejar in the Galway Hurdle. This double victory hadn't been accomplished by any jockey since Joe Byrne achieved it in 1984, marking a 40-year gap in the record books.
King now rides out at multiple stables to gain experience and build his career Islington Gazette. He works with trainer Martin at Mullins' yard, John Ryan in Thurles, and Mark Molloy in Tipperary. Moving between different stables allows King to learn from varied approaches and build relationships with top trainers.
King believes he is lucky to ride multiple times every day, giving him constant chances to improve Hackney Gazette. He values learning from older, more experienced jockeys who have navigated the sport longer. His level-headed approach and willingness to absorb knowledge suggest strong potential for long-term success in racing.
