Bybit Launches RWA Earn to Offer Crypto Users Access to Institutional Bond Funds Via Stablecoins

Bybit’s RWA Earn is built on partners with explicit regulatory positioning: DigiFT is described as “a digital asset exchange dual-licensed in Singapore and Hong Kong,” while Plume is characterized as an “open finance platform” providing “simple, compliant, onchain vaults.”
The tokenized fixed-income strategies backing the vaults are reported to include mortgage-backed securities, high-yield corporate debt, and Asia-Pacific investment-grade bonds—explicitly tying the product’s exposures to credit instruments (not crypto price moves).
Bybit says the vault experience is streamlined so users do not need external platform navigation: participants can “deposit stablecoins directly through Bybit Earn’s RWA interface,” with the vaults integrated into Bybit’s existing custody and credit systems to maintain “unified account oversight” inside Bybit.
The launch frames institutional bond access as constrained by traditional market barriers—“brokerage requirements, accreditation thresholds, and fragmented onboarding processes”—which Bybit is positioning RWA Earn to bypass for crypto-native users.
Bybit has launched RWA Earn, a new feature that lets eligible users put stablecoins into tokenized bond funds backed by PIMCO and China Merchants Bank International. The Globe and Mail reported the launch on June 15, 2026, with a promotional 5% APR boost running through July 15 for early subscribers.
The product, built with partners Plume and DigiFT, channels USDC deposits into fixed-income strategies tied to mortgage-backed securities, high-yield corporate debt, and Asia-Pacific investment-grade bonds. It requires a minimum of 10,000 USDC and carries no subscription or redemption fees, Newswire reported.
Users do not need to leave the Bybit platform to access the vaults. Deposits go in through Bybit Earn's RWA interface, and the vaults connect directly to Bybit's existing custody systems for what the company calls "unified account oversight." Redemptions take one to seven business days, mirroring traditional bond settlement cycles.
Bybit CEO Ben Zhou has framed the push as "invisible finance" — the idea that blockchain infrastructure should work in the background while users simply earn yield. At Paris Blockchain Week 2026, he said traditional institutions "are integrating blockchain as infrastructure" rather than speculating on crypto prices, Crypto News reported.
The two underlying strategies are PIMCO's Dynamic Income Opportunities Fund and China Merchants Bank International's Investment Grade Bond Fund. Returns track NAV — net asset value — meaning they move with credit market performance, not crypto prices. Analysts at Wu Blockchain noted that the "income sources are decoupled from crypto price movements," giving users a real diversifier.
DigiFT serves as the regulatory bridge. The firm holds dual licenses from Singapore's Monetary Authority and Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission, covering Type 1 and Type 4 activities. CEO Henry Zhang said the licenses "reinforce institutional trust in tokenized finance," according to Fintech News. Plume, the other partner, runs purpose-built "Nest Vaults" that turn off-chain bonds into programmable on-chain tools.
The launch fits a wider industry move. The tokenized RWA market on public blockchains has crossed $20 billion as of Q2 2026. The non-Treasury bond segment alone reached roughly $1.77 billion by April 2026, according to RWA.xyz data cited in research briefings. Major exchanges are racing to channel idle stablecoins — money sitting dormant in user wallets — into traditional credit markets.
Bybit now lists over 400 traditional instruments, including equity CFDs and tokenized gold. Rival OKX launched perpetual contracts tied to Apple and Tesla stocks on June 9, 2026 — just six days before this launch. The competition to blur the line between crypto exchange and financial platform is accelerating fast, Crypto News reported.
Bybit says RWA Earn removes old barriers like brokerage accounts and accreditation hurdles. But critics point out the 10,000 USDC minimum — roughly $10,000 — and strict KYC eligibility filters still put the product out of reach for most retail users globally. The "medium risk" label also means real exposure to interest rate hikes and corporate credit defaults, risks many crypto-native users may not fully understand.
PLUME's native token jumped 10.7% within 24 hours of the announcement, showing strong market appetite for the partnership. Whether retail demand can scale beyond early adopters depends heavily on whether Bybit lowers the entry barrier or expands eligibility over time, Crypto News reported.
