Israel Reports Killing Several Senior Hamas Commanders in Overnight Gaza Airstrikes

Israel said an overnight airstrike in Gaza City killed Izz al-Din al-Bik, commander of Hamas’s Northern Gaza Brigade; Palestinian sources and medics also confirmed his death. Israel accused al-Bik of directing attacks and recruiting fighters, and said he was rebuilding the brigade’s capabilities and posed an immediate threat; Palestinian reports placed the strike at an apartment building in the al-Nasr neighborhood. The strikes came amid continuing Israeli attacks despite the ceasefire, and al-Bik’s killing followed the deaths of two other Hamas brigade commanders in recent weeks.
