Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty stars in successful season debut

Ashton Jeanty made his debut in the Las Vegas Raiders' season 2 with a successful debut in a 27-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Jeanty rushed for 102 yards on 23 carries and caught all six of his targets for 45 yards, including two touchdowns. His performance provided immediate optimism for the Raiders' offense. Despite a previous injury to an ankle, Jeanty was able to recover quickly and perform well in the team's first game. He joined Christian McCaffrey and Brian Westbrook in the only players since at least 1948 with multiple games featuring at least 100 rushing yards and two touchdown receptions in a season opener. Despite an uneven rookie season, Jeantant's performance could quiet doubters after averaging 3.7 yards per carry behind a struggling offensive line.
