Delicious in Dungeon is officially coming back. Studio Trigger confirmed Season 2 will premiere on Netflix in October 2027, with the announcement made at Anime Expo 2026, according to Anime News Network and Screen Rant.
The show, based on Ryoko Kui's 14-volume manga, follows Laios and his party as they cook and eat the monsters they fight inside a dungeon. Season 1 debuted in 2024 to a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 93% audience score, per Otaku Kart.
Studio Trigger unveiled a new key visual at Anime Expo 2026. The image features all five core characters: Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck, Senshi, and Falin, according to Noisy Pixel. The art signals a fresh visual direction for the returning series.
Director Yoshihiro Miyajima also revealed redesigned art for Falin specifically. The new look brings her closer to how she appears in the original manga. The panel also teased deeper story focus on characters Izutsumi and Mithrun, Essential Japan reported.
Season 2 will begin at what the team calls the First Floor Interlude. This picks up directly after the Sixth Floor arc from Season 1, according to Noisy Pixel. The goal is to push the story toward its climax.
The same animation team from Studio Trigger is returning. The full voice cast is also expected to come back. Screen Rant confirmed the season will adapt the latter half of Kui's manga, completing the full story arc.
Season 1 earned major recognition after its 2024 debut. It won Best Anime Series Premiere at Manga Barcelona and took home the Abema Special Award for Best Food Animation, per Otaku Kart. Those wins helped boost manga sales worldwide.
Food illustrator Mao Momiji, who designed the show's dishes in Season 1, has spoken in interviews about continuing that work into Season 2. The food design is a key part of the show's identity — each monster meal is carefully crafted to look real and appetizing.
Netflix will stream Season 2 globally starting October 2027. That matches the platform's deal from Season 1, which brought the show to a wide international audience. Essential Japan and Noisy Pixel both confirmed the October window.
The October 2027 date gives Studio Trigger roughly a year of production time from the Anime Expo 2026 announcement. No episode count has been revealed yet. Fans of the manga know the story has enough material left to fill a full season.
