NHL teams placed 71 players on waivers Sunday as they trimmed rosters ahead of Monday’s 5 p.m. ET cap-compliance deadline. Nashville waived veteran defensemen Nick Perbix and Ilya Lyubushkin after St. Louis claimed defenseman Justin Barron from the Predators, and New Jersey claimed Dallas goaltender Rémi Poirier. Boston waived forwards Lukas Reichel and Alex Steeves for assignment to Providence and made additional training-camp cuts. Edmonton made 15 cuts, including sending seven players to Bakersfield and placing Josh Brown, Riley Stillman and Eduards Tralmaks on waivers; Pittsburgh also waived Caleb Jones.
