Farooq Abdullah Urges New Delhi to Change Stance on Jammu and Kashmir

National Conference president Farooq Abdullah said his party would continue its democratic and political campaign to restore Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and the constitutional and democratic rights of its people. Speaking in Shopian, he called for a change in New Delhi’s approach and meaningful dialogue between the central and Jammu and Kashmir governments, while saying party legislators and members of Parliament would keep raising residents’ concerns through democratic forums. Abdullah also said the NC government was trying to provide relief and address people’s problems despite limited powers and resources, and reiterated its position through a resolution passed by the Legislative Assembly.
