Dylan Larkin reportedly expands his trade preferences to include eight NHL teams.

As the 2026-27 NHL season approaches, Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin has reportedly expanded the teams he would accept a trade to beyond Minnesota, Vegas and Florida to include Colorado, Washington, Dallas and Tampa Bay. Detroit is reportedly dissatisfied with Minnesota’s offer, but no trade has been completed, and the Red Wings are not expected to move their captain simply to accommodate his preferences. Any potential suitor would need to make room for Larkin’s $8.7 million cap hit, which runs through 2030-31, and offer Detroit a substantial return.
Detroit has been searching for a new general manager since Steve Yzerman stepped down in July, adding uncertainty to the team’s handling of Larkin’s trade request.
Larkin is coming off his fifth consecutive season with at least 30 goals and 30 assists.
An upper-body injury kept Larkin out of the first few days of Red Wings training camp; he later joined his teammates on the ice at Little Caesars Arena.
