Arm Holdings CEO Warns That Chip Shortages Are Slowing Down AI Cancer Cures

Rene Haas, CEO of Cambridge-based chip designer Arm Holdings, has stated that artificial intelligence will find a cure for cancer that humans cannot in their lifetimes. Haas also predicted that AI will lead to widespread humanoid robots in the next five years, but this growth is being hampered by a shortage of chips needed to build data centres. However, he was sceptical about the idea chips could be manufactured in the UK in the future. Haas, who also holds a key role in Softbank, the company's main owner, has expressed skepticism about AI manufacturing in the US.
