Pitch invader thwarted

Footage described the intruder first running along a ledge above the pitch after Gio Reyna’s stoppage-time goal, before making a dash toward the field; security staff responded within seconds and brought him down before he entered play.

Reporting noted the fan’s sequence of actions inside SoFi Stadium: he “jumped over the glass at the edge of the stand” and ran back and forth on a platform (about two metres above the grass), clutching a ball in black attire before launching into the security group.

The crowd’s reaction included verbal abuse captured on stream and objects raining from the stands—one supporter shouted “You f****** idiot,” while another yelled “You dumb***,” as beer and cups were reported as falling in opprobrium.
