Fantasy football analysts examine Jameis Winston's opportunity and dynasty breakout candidates for week three.

Fantasy football analysts are watching Jameis Winston’s opportunity to replace the injured Jaxson Dart for the Giants, while questioning whether Winston can provide the consistency the team needs. Another matchup preview warns that Seattle’s unsettled running-back group could struggle against Washington’s defense, and says the Seahawks’ pass defense may also pose a difficult matchup. Dynasty managers are encouraged to consider buying low on tight end Terrance Ferguson after he recorded six catches, 54 yards and a touchdown on a career-high route share, despite competition in the Rams’ tight end room. On defense, Anthony Hill Jr.’s strong start and Cody Barton’s lead over Cedric Gray in playing time have weakened Gray’s outlook, though the analyst sees a possible opportunity to acquire him cheaply.
Winston’s past production shows the volatility behind the Giants’ decision: in his final Tampa Bay season he threw for 5,109 yards and 33 touchdowns, but also 30 interceptions; since then, he has appeared in only 37 games.
Washington held Saquon Barkley to an RB29 finish in Week One and Javonte Williams to RB34 in Week Two. The analyst attributes this partly to Washington’s struggling pass defense, which has encouraged opponents to run, and expects Jaxon Smith-Njigba to have another big game.
The analyst says Ferguson was a target throughout the offseason, even after the Rams added rookie Max Klare to an already crowded tight-end room, and frames buying young players before a breakout as a dynasty strategy.
Gray’s reduced role followed a Week One absence while he dealt with effects of a concussion from a preseason UTV accident. Hill, meanwhile, was set to keep the team’s signal-calling duties after his strong start.
