Kaley Cuoco joyfully announces she is expecting second child, a baby girl, with fiancé Tom Pelphrey

In her Instagram caption announcing the news, Cuoco added a playful detail about the post’s final photo: “the last pic is our dainty princess giving us the middle finger.”
Cuoco and Pelphrey made their first public appearance together as a couple at a “Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony” in May 2022.
Regarding her first pregnancy preparation, Cuoco joked that Pelphrey “had googled about this so much that he could deliver the baby at that point,” adding to her earlier point that she had “zero plans” and read “zero books.”
Cuoco previously told TODAY.com that the name “Matilda” was decided within a week of meeting Pelphrey—“Would it be crazy to say if we had a baby we’d name her Matilda?”—and that they “kept her name a complete secret until she was born.”
Cuoco’s announcement drew reactions from high-profile colleagues, including former “Big Bang Theory” co-star Simon Helberg, who sent a congratulatory message in response to the pregnancy news.
Kaley Cuoco is expecting her second child with fiancé Tom Pelphrey — and this time, it's another girl. The 40-year-old actress announced the news on June 10, 2026, via Instagram, posting a carousel of photos that included a sonogram, a gender-reveal cake with a pink center, and her growing baby bump. "Little sissy on the way!!!" she wrote in her caption, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Cuoco and Pelphrey, 43, are already parents to 3-year-old daughter Matilda, born in March 2023. The couple got engaged in August 2024. Cuoco described the second pregnancy as "a little windier in many ways" but said the family is "so grateful for this moment," per NBC Chicago.
Matilda, now 3, made a starring appearance in the announcement photos. She is seen holding a cake sliced to reveal a pink center — the classic gender reveal moment. The couple confirmed they are expecting another daughter, with Cuoco calling her "little sissy" in the caption, according to NBC San Diego.
Pelphrey added his own humor to the reveal. He posted that the baby had "flipped off" the camera during the 3D sonogram. "Doc gave her a little prod for the pic, and this was her immediate response... definitely my child," he wrote. Cuoco echoed that joke, noting that "the last pic is our dainty princess giving us the middle finger."
Cuoco and Pelphrey met at the Ozark season premiere in April 2022. Cuoco later described it as "love at first sight." They went Instagram official in May 2022 and made their first public appearance together at a Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for producer Greg Berlanti on May 23, 2022, according to NBC DFW.
Their first daughter, Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey, arrived on March 30, 2023. Cuoco had previously told TODAY.com that she picked the name "Matilda" within a week of meeting Pelphrey. The couple kept the name secret until after the birth. Pelphrey proposed in August 2024, gifting Cuoco a square-cut diamond ring estimated to be worth between $150,000 and $320,000.
Cuoco is known for her laid-back take on pregnancy. During her first pregnancy, she said she had "zero plans" and read "zero books." She joked that Pelphrey "had googled about this so much that he could deliver the baby at that point." Her announcement suggests that easy-going spirit is back, even as she acknowledged a "windier" road this time, per NBC Connecticut.
Pelphrey's post matched that tone. He wrote of "deep gratitude and joy" and expressed "so much respect and admiration" for Cuoco during the journey. The couple has built a public image around humor and honesty — from the unfiltered sonogram photo to Cuoco's candid admissions about not reading parenting books the first time around.
Reactions poured in quickly after the announcement. Former Big Bang Theory co-star Simon Helberg was among the first high-profile names to respond, posting: "Awww congratulations, Kaley!!!" Cuoco starred alongside Helberg for 279 episodes of the long-running CBS sitcom, and the bond between the cast has remained strong years after the show ended.
Fan response on Instagram was also overwhelmingly positive. Cuoco's post reached her 7.8 million followers within hours of going live. One popular comment read: "Best thing you can do for your child. Siblings so important." The announcement marked the latest major life event for a couple that has moved, in Cuoco's own words, completely "out of order" — baby first, engagement second, wedding still to come, according to NBC Los Angeles.
