Brewers Roster Update

Milwaukee Brewers recall Brandon Sproat and place Grant Anderson on injured list.

Brandon Sproat has been recalled from Class AAA Nashville and will be asked to pitch out of the bullpen to provide additional length due to short starts by others. This comes as Grant Anderson is placed on the 15-day injured list with biceps inflammation. Despite an uneven five-plus months, Sproats remains in the Milwaukee Brewers' future plans as a starting pitcher. He was sent to Triple-A in an effort to get him back on track in a lower-pressure environment. Manager Pat Murphy stated that this move was necessary due to the shortage of starts and three-inning starts. Sproato was acquired from the New York Mets in exchange for Freddy Peralta.
