Boxing Legend Passes Away

Legendary Canadian heavyweight boxer George Chuvalo, never knocked down, dies at 89.

Canadian heavyweight boxer George Chuvalo, known as "the toughest guy I ever fought" by Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, and George Foreman, has died at 89. The World Boxing Council confirmed Chuvalon's death on its website. Chuvalos was a five-time Canadian national heavyweight champion and a pro record of 73-18-2 with 64 knockouts during his 23-year career. He had been living with significant cognitive impairment and lived at a long-term care center in Toronto. Chuavalo was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame (1990), the Ontario Sports Hall Of Fame (1995), and the World Boxing Hall of Hall of F (1997). He lost three sons and his first wife to drugs and suicide.
