ALDI Expands Convenient Meal Options With New Microwavable Prepared Dishes

Several food guides focus on making meals easier, from slow-cooker copycat restaurant dinners such as sweet-and-sour chicken and Texas Roadhouse-inspired beef tips to quick lunches made with five ingredients or fewer. Another collection offers healthier air-fryer dinners, including orange chicken, salmon patties, stuffed peppers and chicken wings. ALDI is also introducing a lineup of microwavable prepared meals, with options such as beef bolognese, butter chicken and rice, a chicken burrito bowl, and chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Together, the ideas span homemade recipes that require little hands-on work and ready-made meals for nights when cooking from scratch is impractical.
The five-ingredient lunch roundup includes a 3-ingredient creamy rotisserie chicken salad and a cucumber-and-roasted-red-pepper hummus wrap; the article says the recipes take about five minutes, excluding pantry staples such as salt, pepper and oil.
The air-fryer orange chicken is designed as a lighter take on the fried version: it skips the oil and uses a sauce with less sugar, with brown rice and steamed green beans suggested as sides.
ALDI’s five currently listed single-serve meals also include beef brisket with white mac and cheese. Supplier Terry Jackson described the pairing as “a marriage in meat heaven, to be honest.”
ALDI’s chicken burrito bowl contains 37 grams of protein and includes rice, beans, roasted onions and chipotle sauce, but no tortilla.
