CGUS stake reached 6,314,257 shares after adding 373,840 in Q1, with a reported value of $242.594 million.
CGCP stake increased to 7,319,089 shares after purchasing 814,939 shares in Q1, valued at $163.508 million.
Vanguard Growth ETF (VUG) position rose to 2,298,549 shares (up 173,690), worth about $1.004 billion; Cetera’s holding accounts for roughly 0.54% of its portfolio and ranks as the ETF's 13th-largest holding.
T. Rowe Price Blue Chip Growth ETF (TCHP) stake increased by 9.8% to 3,921,510 shares after buying 350,571, valued at $173.252 million, representing about 9.40% of the ETF.
Vanguard Mid-Cap ETF (VO) position rose to 1,384,756 shares after adding 105,621, worth $397.674 million, with Cetera owning about 0.43% of the ETF.
Cetera Investment Advisers made broad, aggressive moves into major ETFs during the first quarter of 2025, expanding positions across core equity, growth, income, and mid-cap funds. The firm added hundreds of thousands of shares across multiple funds, pushing several positions into nine-figure dollar values, according to Watchlist News and Ticker Report.
The moves signal a deliberate, wide-ranging expansion of Cetera's portfolio. No single fund dominated — the firm spread new money across Vanguard, Capital Group, T. Rowe Price, iShares, and Dimensional funds simultaneously.
Cetera's largest single position is now in the Vanguard Growth ETF (VUG). The firm added 173,690 shares in Q1, lifting its total to 2,298,549 shares. That stake is now worth roughly $1 billion, according to Ticker Report. It ranks as the 13th-largest holding in the entire ETF.
The VUG position grew 8.2% in just one quarter. VUG tracks large-cap US growth stocks — think big technology and consumer companies. Cetera now holds about 0.54% of the entire fund. That is a notable footprint for a single advisory firm.
Cetera pushed its Capital Group Core Equity ETF (CGUS) stake up 6.3% to 6,314,257 shares, worth $242.6 million. It also grew its Capital Group Core Plus Income ETF (CGCP) position by 12.5%, reaching 7,319,089 shares valued at $163.5 million, according to Watchlist News.
The T. Rowe Price Blue Chip Growth ETF (TCHP) saw the steepest climb in ownership terms. Cetera added 350,571 shares, bringing its total to 3,921,510 shares worth $173.3 million. The firm now owns about 9.40% of the entire TCHP fund — a dominant position by any measure, per Ticker Report.
Cetera also boosted its Vanguard Mid-Cap ETF (VO) position by 8.3%, adding 105,621 shares. Its total VO stake now stands at 1,384,756 shares worth $397.7 million. The firm controls roughly 0.43% of that ETF, according to Ticker Report.
At the smaller end of the market, Cetera raised its stake in the Dimensional US Small Cap Value ETF (DFSV) by 61.3% — the sharpest percentage gain across all its moves. It now holds 3,888,709 shares of DFSV. The firm also grew its Invesco NASDAQ 100 ETF (QQQM) position by 5.7% to 2,217,040 shares and lifted its iShares Core Dividend Growth ETF (DGRO) stake 7.4% to 3,324,499 shares.
Taken together, these moves show a clear pattern. Cetera is not making a single concentrated bet. It is buying more of nearly everything — growth stocks, mid-caps, small-caps, income funds, and blue-chip equity ETFs at the same time.
The scale is striking. Several individual positions now exceed $100 million. The VUG stake alone tops $1 billion. For an advisory firm managing client assets, these are not small tactical tweaks — they reflect a deliberate, systematic shift toward broad US equity exposure heading into mid-2025.
