DLD Asset Management LP made a flurry of moves across its SPAC holdings in the first quarter, buying new stakes, boosting existing ones, and trimming others. The firm now holds positions in at least five SPAC or micro-cap names, ranging from a $4.74 million bet on Bold Eagle Acquisition Corp. to a fresh $534,000 entry into Comstock Inc., according to Watchlist News.
SPACs — short for Special Purpose Acquisition Companies — are shell companies that raise money to merge with a private firm and take it public. DLD's Q1 filings show a clear strategy: go bigger on some names, pull back on others.

DLD was not buying everywhere. It sold 60,000 shares of Churchill Capital Corp IX (CCIX) in Q1, cutting its position by 23%. The firm now holds 200,862 shares worth about $2.15 million. Ratings agencies have turned negative on CCIX — Weiss Ratings reaffirmed a sell rating, and Wall Street Zen also rates it a sell, Watchlist News reported.
DLD also trimmed its Archimedes Tech SPAC Partners II Co. (ATII) stake by 25%, selling 50,000 shares. It now holds 150,000 shares valued at roughly $1.56 million. Weiss Ratings did upgrade ATII in May — but only from a
Taken together, DLD's Q1 filings paint a selective picture. The firm is not simply loading up on SPACs across the board. It is adding to names it likes — Bold Eagle, Cantor Equity — while cutting exposure to others like Churchill Capital and Archimedes. Two entirely new positions, Comstock and Evolution Global, show the firm is still hunting for fresh opportunities.
SPAC investing carries real risk. These shell companies often trade near their $10 trust value until a merger deal is announced. DLD's bets span several of these names, making its portfolio sensitive to deal activity and broader market sentiment around blank-check companies.
