Multiple Schools Announce 2026 Homecoming Courts and Celebrations for Upcoming Games

East Central Community College announced its 2026 Homecoming Court, with the queen to be named at the Sept. 28 parade and pep rally and the court presented at the Oct. 1 football game. At Jones College, Allie Robinson was named Homecoming Queen; the report also profiles court member Matthews and other student candidates. Southern Local High School will select its 2026 Homecoming King and Queen from junior-class candidates at halftime of its game against Columbiana, with the school dance scheduled for Saturday. Jacksonville High School’s homecoming week concludes with a parade led by longtime special education teacher Joe O’Neil and a football game against Lanphier.
East Central’s homecoming parade and pep rally are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on its Decatur campus, and its Oct. 1 homecoming game is against Pearl River.
Jones College queen Allie Robinson is an elementary education major and captain of the Touch of Gold dance team. She said, “It is an honor to be selected by my peers to be Homecoming Queen,” and described the role as an opportunity to “show kindness and spread the love of Christ.”
Southern Local will determine its king and queen through a flower selection: candidates receive boxed flowers, and the students who choose the Blue Carnation will be crowned.
Jacksonville parade marshal Joe O’Neil is a 30-year district veteran and was named educator of the year for the 2025–26 school year. The parade starts at 4 p.m. at Duncan Park and travels east on West State to the downtown square.
