Former Florida Elementary Teacher Faces Felony Charges for Showing Pornography to Third Graders

Cesar Cardoso, a former teacher at Miami's Sunset Park Elementary School, is facing three felony charges for allegedly showing pornography to third graders and inappropriately touching them Live5News. The allegations, dating to the 2024-2025 school year, include showing explicit images of naked women and men—including himself—and one depicting child sexual abuse. Cardoso was removed from the classroom in May and permanently barred from the district.
Miami-Dade Schools Police discovered the allegations in April 2025 WVVA. The investigation revealed that Cardoso had shown pornographic images to students in his third-grade classroom during the 2024-2025 school year. The charges were filed after police completed their inquiry into his conduct at the school.
Beyond showing explicit images, Cardoso is accused of inappropriate physical contact with multiple female students KAIT8. Investigators say he touched or slapped girls on their buttocks or thighs and made inappropriate comments toward them. The three felony charges reflect the severity of the allegations involving both visual and physical misconduct.
Miami-Dade Schools removed Cardoso from the classroom setting in May 2025 KPTV. The district also permanently barred him from any future employment with the school system. Officials have not yet disclosed whether parents were notified or if additional support services were offered to affected students.
