Rachel Weisz returns as Evelyn alongside Brendan Fraser in upcoming Mummy 4 sequel.

Production has begun in London on the untitled fourth Mummy film, scheduled for release in October 2027. Rachel Weisz is returning as Evelyn O’Connell for the first time since 2001’s The Mummy Returns; set photos show her in period clothing alongside vintage-looking props. Brendan Fraser is reprising Rick O’Connell, with John Hannah, Oded Fehr and Arnold Vosloo also returning. The sequel is expected to bypass 2008’s The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, in which Maria Bello played Evelyn, and is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
David Coggeshall wrote the screenplay, and Sean Daniel is returning as a producer.
Kevin J. O’Connor is also returning, while Michael Johnston and Numan Acar have joined the cast in undisclosed roles.
Some scenes were filmed outside the British Museum, where Weisz was photographed with a vintage briefcase and transistor radio; the scenes are understood to appear early in the film.
John Hannah said he had read the script and called it “terrific,” adding that he thought fans would be happy with the film.
Brendan Fraser described returning to play Rick O’Connell as “like being reconnected with an old friend.”
