Canadiens sign forward Zachary Bolduc to four-year, $16.8-million contract extension

The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Zachary Bolduc to a four-year, US$16.8-million contract with an annual salary-cap hit of US$4.2 million. The move comes ahead of the team's annual golf tournament at Laval-sur-le-Lac. On Saturday, general manager Kent Hughes signed veteran free-agent forward Chris Kreider to a one-year and US$2.15-million deal, potentially adding another $3.125 million in bonus performances. On Sunday, Hughes also signed restricted free-agents Zachary Balduc and restricted free agent Chris Kreid. Despite only 11:23 of ice time in the playoffs, Balduc ranked second on the Canadiens with 47 hits.
