Jerry West Explains Why Kobe Bryant Was More Exciting Than Kevin Garnett

In 2007, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett were two of the top players in the NBA, with season averages of 28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. Bryant also earned All-Star, All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive First Team selections that year. Garnett was also averaging 18.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.4 assist, 1.4 steals and 1.8 blocks per game, finishing third in MVP voting that year and also receiving Defensive Player of the Year. However, former Laker great Jerry West stated that the two were vastly different in terms of style and excitement. He likened their games to different movies. Both players had successful careers, with Bryant winning five NBA Championships, a pair of Finals MVPs, and a regular season MVP.
