Warner Bros. Discovery experienced a widespread technical issue around noon Eastern on Monday that knocked CNN off the air across multiple platforms, including cable and streaming services Newscast Studio. The outage scrambled and pixelated feeds on CNN, HBO, TNT, TBS and other channels during the East Coast's midday broadcast window JoeMyGod. Downdetector recorded a spike in reports at 12:16 p.m. ET as viewers complained about losing signal TheDesk.
CNN anchor Dana Bash returned to air at 12:51 p.m. ET and delivered a direct apology to viewers. "Welcome back, and we are back," Bash said. "There was a technical issue across Warner Bros. Discovery's channels that resulted in losing our signal. We're very sorry for the interruption."
