Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has distributed over 300 million free books worldwide.

Dolly Parton, the country music star and philanthropist who died at age 80, founded the Imagination Library in 1995, which sends free books each month to enrolled children from birth until age five. The program has distributed over 300 million free books worldwide. The books are selected based on a child's age and mailed directly to their home in Georgia. In the U.S. capital city of Washington, over 100,000 children have participated in the program through a joint effort with the Imaginated Library and the D.C. Public Library.
