Terrell Williams Charged With Breaking Into Deceased NASCAR Driver Greg Biffle's Home

A man has been charged with breaking into the Mooresville, North Carolina home of NASCAR star Greg Biffle — just weeks after Biffle and his entire family were killed in a plane crash. Action News Jax reported that Terrell Williams, 44, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, was arrested in connection with a Jan. 8 break-in at the home.
Biffle, his wife Cristina, and their two children died on Dec. 18 in a plane crash. Investigators say Williams stole $30,000 in cash, gold coins, silver coins, and a backpack from the home. Guns and memorabilia were also recovered and returned to the family, according to WSOC-TV.
The break-in happened on Jan. 8, roughly three weeks after the Biffle family's deaths. The home in Mooresville, North Carolina was left without its owners following the Dec. 18 crash. Williams allegedly used that window to enter the property and take valuables, according to WPXI.
Among the stolen items were $30,000 in cash, gold coins, and silver coins. A backpack was also taken. Authorities were able to recover some guns and NASCAR memorabilia and return them to Biffle's family, KIRO 7 reported.
Greg Biffle was a well-known NASCAR driver who competed at the sport's top level for years. He, his wife Cristina, and their two children all died on Dec. 18 when their plane crashed. The crash drew widespread mourning across the racing community.
The timing of the alleged break-in drew sharp attention. Williams reportedly targeted the home while the family was gone and before the property could be fully secured, according to Boston 25 News.
Terrell Williams, 44, was identified as the suspect following an investigation into the burglary. He is from Stone Mountain, with sources differing slightly on whether that refers to Georgia or North Carolina. He was charged in connection with the Jan. 8 incident, WHIO reported.
Authorities have not released details on how Williams was identified or arrested. The case highlighted concerns about homes left vacant after sudden tragedies. Recovered items have since been given back to the Biffle family, according to WOKV.
