Monzo partners with LoungeKey for discounted worldwide airport lounge access.

Monzo customers can skip the noisy airport terminal and access a quiet lounge for just £24 per person, per visit — roughly half the typical walk-in rate of £35–£40, according to Aberdeen Live. The offer works at more than 1,100 lounges worldwide through Monzo's partnership with LoungeKey, and it is not restricted to UK airports.
The deal is available to subscribers of Monzo's Perks plan (£7 per month) or its Max plan (£17 per month), according to Hull Daily Mail. That means even infrequent travellers can potentially save money compared to paying the standard door price.
Monzo partnered with LoungeKey to give subscribers discounted lounge entry. The flat fee of £24 per person covers access — food, drink, and quiet space included. Cornwall Live confirmed the offer applies globally, not just in Britain. That means you can use it whether you are flying from Aberdeen, Amsterdam, or anywhere else with a LoungeKey-affiliated lounge.
There is one catch for first-time users. Your first lounge visit requires a one-off setup step called Strong Customer Authentication. You must physically present your Monzo card at the lounge. After that, subsequent visits are charged automatically to your registered card through the LoungeKey app, according to Stoke Sentinel.
The lounge access is just one piece of a larger bundle. Monzo's Perks plan (£7/month) and Max plan (£17/month) also include a free Greggs treat every week, worth around £104 per year. Subscribers also get one free cinema ticket per month, 10% off cinema food and drinks, and an Uber One membership, according to Devon Live.
The Max tier adds an annual Railcard, which typically costs £30–£35 on its own. Monzo's Chief Product Officer Fernando Fanton said the goal is to "make every pound and penny go further," noting that customer feedback drove the inclusion of everyday perks like Greggs alongside travel benefits. Monzo now has 15.2 million customers and reported £1.7 billion in revenue in 2026.
Aberdeen Live highlighted Aberdeen International Airport as a case study. The airport's Northern Lights Executive Lounge features panoramic views of the airfield and locally sourced Aberdeenshire food. For travellers who normally sit in a loud departure hall, the £24 entry fee offers a clear trade-off — peace and comfort for roughly the price of an airport meal and a drink.
Monzo's flat-fee model arrives at a tricky moment for airport lounges. The global lounge market is worth an estimated $21.79 billion in 2026, according to Fortune Business Insights. But popularity has created a problem. Many lounges are now criticised for feeling like crowded cafeterias rather than quiet retreats. Major US card issuers like Chase and Capital One have already tightened guest rules and raised spending thresholds in response.
Monzo's paid-entry approach — rather than unlimited free access — is seen by industry insiders as a middle-ground fix. It keeps lounges accessible without the free-for-all that causes overcrowding. Reddit users note the £24 fee is often 50% cheaper than the walk-up price. However, some argue the value shrinks if you also pay a monthly subscription fee and rarely fly. If you do not visit a Greggs or a cinema regularly, you may pay for benefits you never use.
