Fortnite Unveils The Odyssey Collaboration Featuring Matt Damon Skins, Free via Tournament

A Roblox version of The Odyssey crossover has been announced, offering a free mode based on the film in addition to Fortnite's in-game skins.
The Odyssey Cup features multi-session solo tournaments across Battle Royale, Zero Build, and Mobile Reload, with up to 11 matches in BR/Zero Build (about three hours) and roughly 75 minutes for Mobile, plus explicit regional tie-breakers and unlocking thresholds (40 points for King’s Helm Spray; 8 points for Trojan War Loading Screen in BR/Zero Build, or 5 points in Mobile).
In the same update, Epic Games is introducing Beckham (David Beckham) and a group of Batman characters in swimsuits, expanding other pop-culture inclusions in the same event rollout.
Fortnite’s official teaser for The Odyssey collaboration was posted by the Fortnite X account, with leaker claims pointing to two skins (Odysseus and Agamemnon) and forthcoming details from Epic.
Matt Damon is coming to Fortnite. Epic Games has announced a collaboration with Christopher Nolan's upcoming film The Odyssey, bringing Damon's character Odysseus into the battle royale as a playable skin. Kotaku confirmed the news, noting the drop is timed to the film's theatrical release.
The skins go live in the item shop on July 17 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, according to VPEsports. A second skin — Agamemnon, based on actor Benny Safdie — is also included in the collaboration. Players can buy the skins or try to win them for free through a limited tournament.
Epic Games will add two new skins tied to The Odyssey. Odysseus carries Matt Damon's likeness. Agamemnon is modeled after Benny Safdie. IGN Nordic reported that the skins follow Fortnite's next major update, which also adds David Beckham and several Batman characters in swimsuits.
Skin prices in Fortnite typically run between 1,200 and 1,500 V-Bucks. The full cosmetic bundle is expected to include the Xiphos Pickaxe and the Bow of Iphytus Back Bling. VPEsports noted that additional items like loading screens and sprays are likely to round out the set.
Players who do not want to spend V-Bucks have a shot at the Odysseus Outfit through the Odyssey Cup. The tournament is a solo competition. It spans three modes: Battle Royale, Zero Build, and a Mobile Reload variant. VPEsports outlined the structure, which allows up to 11 matches in BR and Zero Build — roughly three hours of play.
Point thresholds unlock specific rewards. Earn 40 points in BR or Zero Build to get the King's Helm Spray. Earn 8 points to unlock the Trojan War Loading Screen. Mobile players need just 5 points for that loading screen. Top finishers across all regions win the Odysseus Outfit itself.
The official Fortnite account on X posted a teaser for the collaboration. Insider Gaming reported that the teaser confirmed July 16 as the start date for the content, a day ahead of the skin's item shop debut. Leakers had pointed to both Odysseus and Agamemnon skins before the official reveal.
The crossover is not limited to Fortnite. Go Nintendo noted that a Roblox experience tied to The Odyssey film was also announced. That mode is free to play. It adds another platform to the film's promotional push ahead of its release.
Christopher Nolan films have crossed into Fortnite before. This collaboration follows that same playbook — timed drops, tournament incentives, and layered cosmetic bundles. The Odyssey is a major studio release, and Epic is treating it accordingly with multi-mode tournament support and a multi-platform rollout.
IGN Nordic described the move as expected, writing "of course" The Odyssey is joining Fortnite. The pattern is now familiar: big film, Fortnite skin, free tournament. For players, the Odyssey Cup is the clearest path to getting both skins without spending a single V-Buck.
