TMNT: Splintered Fate's King's Gambit Update Concludes Story, Adds Rat King, Slash

Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is planned for October, delivering updated support for the TMNT: Splintered Fate title along with The King’s Gambit content.
Defeating Rat King requires a multi-step path: players must defeat Shredder multiple times and successfully rescue Master Splinter before accessing the final boss, who can summon past bosses to assist.
Slash is described as a slower, heavily fortified bruiser with natural Water and Ooze affinities, using knockback and an Enraged mode that temporarily increases speed and damage.
Pepperoni remains a new Home Lair ally, and has a quirky trait of occasionally stealing pizza during interactions.
TMNT: Splintered Fate has launched The King's Gambit, a free Ver. 2.0 update that caps off the game's main story with the Rat King as a new final boss. IGN and Gamer's Heroes confirm the update is now live across all platforms, with a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition planned for October.
The update is the game's biggest content drop to date. It brings a new boss, a new playable character, new items, and a paid bundle that covers all current and future content. Bleeding Cool notes the update was developed by Super Evil Megacorp.
The Rat King is the new end-game boss added in The King's Gambit. He is not easy to reach. Players must first defeat Shredder multiple times and then rescue Master Splinter before the Rat King becomes accessible. Archynetys reports the fight involves Rat King summoning past bosses to help him during the battle.
The sequence adds real weight to the finale. Shredder and Master Splinter both play a role in the path to the final fight. This multi-step structure rewards players who have already mastered earlier parts of the game. The update positions this boss as a true endgame challenge.
Slash is the new playable character added as paid DLC. Bleeding Cool describes him as a slower, heavily fortified bruiser. He has natural Water and Ooze affinities. His moveset focuses on knockback, and his Enraged mode temporarily boosts both his speed and his damage output.
Slash fills a different role than the four main Turtles. His tankier style suits players who prefer to absorb hits and dish out heavy blows. The Enraged mode gives him a burst of aggression when needed, balancing his slower default pace.
Players can now recruit Pepperoni as a new Home Lair ally. Head Top Topics notes she has a quirky trait: she occasionally steals pizza during interactions. It is a small detail, but it fits the game's lighthearted tone and adds a new layer to the Home Lair experience.
The update also adds five new Artifacts. These are in-game items that expand build options for all characters. A Samurai Armor Pack is available for all characters as cosmetic content. A Platinum Bundle packages all current and future paid content together, and a Platinum Edition bundles previous DLC alongside the new King's Gambit content.
TMNT: Splintered Fate is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in October. The Switch 2 Edition will include updated support for the new hardware and will ship with The King's Gambit content included. Archynetys notes the game is already available across multiple platforms, and the Switch 2 version extends that reach further.
The King's Gambit free update is available now for all existing players. The Platinum Bundle gives new players a single purchase path to all paid content. Super Evil Megacorp has maintained a steady cadence of updates since launch, and this release marks the conclusion of the main story arc.
