Crypto Industry Launches Major Ad Campaign Ahead of Senate CLARITY Act Vote

One of the pro-CLARITY ads highlights the bill’s provisions targeting cryptocurrency ATM scams, citing the AARP’s support for measures intended to protect seniors. The same ad also names the National Fraternal Order of Police, Major Cities Chiefs Association and National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives as supporters.
The Cedar Innovation Foundation’s anti-bank advertisement uses imagery of pigs eating and accuses banks of enjoying a profit “feeding frenzy.” The ad is scheduled to run on CNBC, MSNOW, CNN, Fox News and Newsmax.
Stand With Crypto is urging users to participate directly in the legislative process and is offering tools to help the public contact or engage with lawmakers before the Senate vote.
Patrick Witt, who also serves as executive director of the White House Digital Asset Advisory Committee, said the Trump administration was committed to passing the bill and warned that failure to reach consensus by the Senate deadline could mean the legislation never advances.
The bill’s proposed division of authority is expected to clarify the regulatory treatment of major digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum by defining the respective jurisdictions of the SEC and CFTC.
The crypto industry is spending millions on national ads to push the Senate toward passing the CLARITY Act on September 15, a bill that would create permanent rules for digital assets and split regulatory power between the SEC and CFTC. Fairshake groups are running endorsements from law enforcement and seniors' advocates, plus attack ads blaming banks for opposing the measure to protect their profits. But prediction markets give the bill only a 16.5% chance of becoming law by 2026.
One pro-CLARITY ad focuses on stopping cryptocurrency ATM scams that prey on older Americans. The spot names the AARP, National Fraternal Order of Police, Major Cities Chiefs Association, and National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives as supporters. These endorsements aim to broaden the bill's appeal beyond crypto insiders.
The campaign reflects the industry's strategy to reframe crypto regulation as a public safety issue. Stand With Crypto is also offering tools to help citizens contact lawmakers directly before the Senate vote, turning grassroots pressure into action.
A nonprofit linked to Fairshake released a harsh anti-bank ad showing pigs eating, accusing lenders of enjoying a profit "feeding frenzy" by opposing the bill. The ad airs on CNBC, MSNOW, CNN, Fox News, and Newsmax. Smaller banks worry that stablecoin yield rules could drain customer deposits.
The stablecoin provisions remain contentious. Banks argue the rules would push customers toward crypto platforms offering higher returns on digital currencies, threatening traditional deposit funding. Critics also dispute other parts of the bill's language.
Patrick Witt, executive director of the White House Digital Asset Advisory Committee, said the Trump administration is committed to passing CLARITY. He warned that missing the Senate deadline could kill the bill permanently. Witt predicted that skeptics will be proven wrong once the law passes.
The legislation aims to settle years of regulatory confusion by assigning Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other major digital assets to either the SEC or CFTC. Yet despite industry pressure, betting markets assign the bill only a 16.5% chance of becoming law by the end of 2026.
