Coyote vs. Acme Opens Strong As Spider-Man Stays Number One

The cartoon-inspired "Coyote vs. Acme" launched with $15.5 million in ticket sales this weekend, according to NBC Chicago. The film debuted in second place while Spider-Man held the No. 1 spot for its fifth consecutive weekend. The opening marked Ketchup Entertainment's best debut to date.
"The Dog Stars," a Ridley Scott action drama starring Jacob Elordi, opened in fifth place with just $8 million domestically and $11.3 million globally, NBC Connecticut reported. The film cost between $70 million and $100 million to produce, making it a poor result for the studio.
