Los Angeles Dodgers Clinch Record-Tying Fourteenth Consecutive Playoff Berth With Victory

The Los Angeles Dodgers have clinched their 14th consecutive playoff spot, following a 4-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. The two-time defending World Series champions, who joined Milwaukee and Tampa Bay in securing playoff spots, cut their deficit to three for a fifth consecutive NL West title and 13th in 14 seasons. The Dodgers tied the Atlanta Braves' postseason run from 1991 through 2005, but only won in 1995. Manager Dave Roberts acknowledged the team's long-term winning streak and said they have accomplished a lot but haven't yet reached their best baseball yet. The team currently stands as the second seed in the NL, 2 1/2 behind Atlanta and trailing Milwaukee by 2 games for the top seed.
