Series of Serious Crashes Block Major Roads Across the UK and New Zealand

Several serious crashes have caused road closures and delays. Near Bourton-on-the-Water, a motorcyclist in his 40s was seriously injured in a single-vehicle collision on the A436 and taken to hospital; a diversion is in place. In Auckland’s Massey area, a two-car crash has blocked Red Hills Road, with police warning the closure may last for some time. In Thetford, sections of London Road and St Martin’s Way are closed after a collision. Separate crashes have also disrupted Norwich Road in Dereham and the A149 between Heacham and Snettisham, where drivers are facing slow traffic or long delays; injury details were not reported for those incidents.
Police were called to the A436 collision at about 3:20am. The rider, who was from Andoversford, was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
Gloucestershire Police appealed for witnesses and anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact them, quoting incident 46 of 28 September.
The Auckland crash was reported to police at about 11:30am on Sunday; motorists were told to follow the directions of traffic management.
In Thetford, the collision was at the junction of London Road and St Martin’s Way. The closure also affects the stretch where St Martin’s Way leads round to St John’s Way.
The Dereham traffic disruption was reported where Norwich Road connects with the B1147; emergency services were at the scene.
