Deftones Announce Seventh Annual Dia De Los Deftones Festival at Petco Park in San Diego
The Deftones have announced the seventh annual Dia De Los Deftones festival, set for November 7 at Petco Park in San Diego. The lineup includes AFI, The Neighbourhood, Converge, Jehnny Beth, Ladrones, Lip Critic, LustSickPuppy, and the Deftones themselves, according to Parade.
The announcement comes less than a year after the band scored their first-ever No. 1 hit. Their 2025 single "My Mind Is a Mountain" topped Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart — 27 years after their first chart entry, Forbes reported.
A Festival Born From Día de los Muertos Tradition
The first Dia De Los Deftones was held on November 3, 2018 at Petco Park. It featured Future, Mike Shinoda, and Rocket from the Crypt, according to The Sacramento Bee. The festival skipped 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 but has run every year since 2022.
The event is rooted in Día de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead tradition. Several band members, including frontman Chino Moreno, have Mexican-American heritage. Many fans attend in traditional calavera — skull — face paint, blending metal culture with cultural heritage.
Chino Moreno Built This Festival Around Genre-Blind Taste
Moreno has always pushed for lineups that cross genre lines. "We're fans of lots of different music," he said, according to Parade. "When I was in high school, I thought I was kind of weird because I listened to goth music and Rush at the same time."
This year's lineup reflects that philosophy. AFI and Converge represent the band's punk and hardcore roots. Jehnny Beth and The Neighbourhood bring post-punk and indie pop. Lip Critic and LustSickPuppy push into more experimental territory, according to The Fresno Bee.
Tickets Go on Sale Wednesday After Morning Presale
An artist and mailing list presale began June 24 at 10:00 AM PT via Ticketmaster. The general public sale opens June 26 at 10:00 AM PT. Based on past years, general admission floor tickets have ranged from $120 to $150, with seated options from $80 to $95, according to The Star-Telegram.
Live Nation is the official promoter for the event. Petco Park holds over 20,000 fans. The festival has consistently sold out in previous years, according to The Kansas City Star.
A No. 1 Hit and Stadium Status Signal a New Era
The Deftones have charted 17 songs on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Nine reached the Top 10. But only "My Mind Is a Mountain," from their 10th studio album *Private Music*, ever hit No. 1 — and it did so in September 2025, Forbes reported.
Industry observers say the band has shifted from a touring act to a "curator brand." By filling a Major League Baseball stadium each November, the Deftones now set trends rather than follow them. The 7th annual festival caps what has been the band's biggest commercial year in nearly three decades.
