Dairy Queen launches its first nationwide Halloween menu featuring ube and ghost pepper.

Ube is a purple yam commonly used in Filipino cuisine and desserts such as ube halaya; its natural color gives the Blizzard its vivid purple appearance.
The Goldie sweepstakes is limited to eligible DQ Rewards members who are at least 18 years old, with entries closing Oct. 31.
The Ghost Pepper Sauce can be ordered with a four-piece Chicken Strip Basket that includes fries and Texas toast.
The Mystery Blizzard Buddies are sold in mystery packaging and are available only while supplies last at participating locations.
Dairy Queen operates about 7,800 restaurants across 20 countries, including more than 4,000 locations in the United States.
Dairy Queen is going spooky for the first time ever. Starting Sept. 28, the chain will roll out its Spellbound Series at participating U.S. locations through Nov. 1, featuring three new Halloween-themed items: an Enchanted Oreo Blizzard with purple shimmer, a Bubble Brew DQ Sparkler drink, and Ghost Pepper Sauce served with chicken strips, according to AOL.
The promotion also includes mystery Blizzard Buddies plush keychains sold for $4, with a rare Goldie design that gives DQ Rewards members a shot at winning free Blizzard treats for a full year. KOSI 101.1 reports the entire menu runs through Nov. 1 at participating locations while supplies last.
The Enchanted Oreo Blizzard is the centerpiece of DQ's new Halloween lineup. It combines Oreo pieces, a sweet ube-flavored base, and edible purple shimmer for a vibrant look, according to Dallas News. Ube is a purple yam popular in Filipino desserts. Its natural color gives the Blizzard its striking purple appearance without artificial dyes.
Beyond the signature Blizzard, DQ is adding two other items. The Bubble Brew DQ Sparkler blends blood orange, lemonade, sparkling water, and cold foam for a fizzy treat. The Ghost Pepper Sauce brings heat to a four-piece Chicken Strip Basket that includes fries and Texas toast, Merca20 reports. This marks the first time DQ has added a spicy component to its seasonal menu.
DQ is selling $4 mystery Blizzard Buddies plush keychains with five different designs. One rare Goldie character offers eligible Rewards members a chance to win Blizzard treats for a year, according to Daily Voice. The sweepstakes is limited to DQ Rewards members age 18 and older, with entries closing Oct. 31. The plushies come in mystery packaging and are available only while supplies last.
The Spellbound Series builds on DQ's earlier fall menu, which included a Pumpkin Pie Blizzard. Dairy Queen operates roughly 7,800 restaurants across 20 countries, with more than 4,000 U.S. locations. Merca20 notes the new Halloween collection is part of the chain's broader seasonal strategy to drive foot traffic during the fall months.
