Florida Woman Identified as Victim in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Caused by Alligator

A 20-year-old Florida woman, Cassi Taylor, has been identified as the victim of a hit-and-run crash that killed her in Brevard County, which began when another driver hit an alligator. The crash occurred along Interstate-95 after a Mercedes-Benz hit an animal in the road, leading to Taylor's loss of control and she was ejected from the car and thrown onto the road where an unidentified vehicle hit her and fled the scene. The Mercedes driver, a 58-year old Canadian man, was uninjured and remained at the scene; an investigation is ongoing as authorities search for the driver of the vehicle that fled the accident scene.
