Emirates has won Best Airline Worldwide at the 2026 Business Traveller Middle East Awards — for the 13th straight year. The Dubai carrier also took home Best First Class and Best Airport Lounge in the Middle East, making it a clean sweep of the top three prizes, according to Aviation A2Z.
The awards are voted on by readers of Business Traveller Middle East magazine. Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, accepted the honors. He said the wins reflect the airline's "continued commitment to investing in developing an exceptional travel experience," according to Travel and Tour World.
A $5 Billion Bet on Fleet Overhauls Pays Off
Emirates is in the middle of one of the largest fleet upgrades in aviation history. The airline has committed $5 billion to refurbish 219 aircraft — 110 Airbus A380s and 109 Boeing 777s. The push was triggered by long delays in Boeing 777X deliveries, which forced Emirates to extend the life of its current jets, Aviation A2Z reported.
The program is moving fast. By April 2026, 93 aircraft had already been fully upgraded with new Premium Economy cabins.
