Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles is returning to UCLA gymnastics as a student coach. The four-time NCAA champion will mentor 17 gymnasts — three seniors and 14 underclassmen — after winning gold and bronze medals at the Paris Olympics OC Register.
Chiles helped lead UCLA to both the Big Ten Conference regular season title and conference championship last year. She will work with key returners like sophomore Ashlee Sullivan and Tiana Sumanasekera, both of whom earned All-Big Ten honors as freshmen Press Enterprise.
Chiles made history as an elite gymnast at UCLA. She won four NCAA team championships while competing for the Bruins and helped cement the program's status as a national powerhouse SB Sun. Her return as a coaching staff member adds proven championship experience to the program.
Chiles' recent Paris Olympics performance demonstrated her elite-level gymnastics skills. She earned both a gold medal and a bronze medal at the Games Daily Breeze. These achievements make her uniquely qualified to mentor UCLA's next generation of gymnasts.
