Baltimore Ravens Rookie Wide Receiver Ja’Kobi Lane Fractures Wrist in Season Opener

Baltimore selected Lane with the No. 80 overall pick in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and the USC product had built significant offseason and training-camp momentum before his injury.
Lane’s apparent first NFL touchdown was erased by a holding penalty against center Jovaughn Gwyn, according to the Yahoo Sports report.
The 6-foot-4 Lane had earned an immediate offensive role because coaches valued his size, catch radius and ability to give Lamar Jackson a larger target near the sideline and in the red zone.
Mike Garafolo described Lane’s injury as a particularly difficult development after the overturned touchdown, saying: “Tough day for the rookie, who had a TD negated by [a] penalty and is now out for the game and maybe more.”
