Nintendo's Mario Tennis Fever for Switch 2 Adds Galaxy Court, Black Hole Racket

Mario's classic outfit is now playable in Mario Tennis Fever, expanding beyond the previously limited Mario outfits.
Prankster Comets appear during Galaxy Court Match and can significantly alter strategy as the match progresses.
Academy Court options have been added, including Grass, Hard, and Clay surfaces for court selection.
A new Random racket option is now available on the racket selection screen, introducing randomized gear for matches.
Nintendo has dropped a free update for Mario Tennis Fever on Switch 2, and it is packed with new content. The headlining additions are a Galaxy Court inspired by Super Mario Galaxy, a new Black Hole Racket, and GameShare support — all available to players at no extra cost, according to My Nintendo News and Noisy Pixel.
The update also brings five new Luma colors for character customization, a Random racket option, and new Academy Court surfaces. Multiple balance tweaks refine the core gameplay, including easier execution of Star Shots, as confirmed by Nintendo World Report.
The Galaxy Court drops players into a distant-planet arena with high ball bounce and shape variations. It works across Free Play, Ranked, and Special Match modes, according to My Nintendo News. A Special Galaxy Court Match goes even further, placing competitors on a fully spherical playing field that changes how every shot travels.
Prankster Comets appear during Galaxy Court Matches and can shift strategy dramatically as the game goes on. Nintendo World Report noted that black holes in the court can randomly absorb players mid-match, adding a chaotic twist to each rally.
The new Black Hole Racket creates a ground-level black hole when used. That hole pulls nearby players toward it and damages anyone who gets too close. However, it does not affect incoming balls, so opponents can still return shots normally, according to Noisy Pixel.
A new Random racket setting has also been added to the racket selection screen. Players who pick it get randomized gear for each match. It is a small but fun addition for those who want a surprise element in their loadout.
GameShare support is now live, letting players share the game with nearby friends who do not own it. Nerdvana reported that the feature works alongside GameChat on Nintendo Switch Online. That means a group can play together and stay in voice contact without everyone needing their own copy.
Players can also use the new Academy Court options added in this update. Grass, Hard, and Clay surfaces are now available for court selection, giving more variety for casual and competitive play alike, per Go Nintendo.
Mario's classic outfit is now playable in Mario Tennis Fever. It expands the outfit options beyond what was available at launch. The update also makes Star Shots easier to pull off, lowering the skill barrier for a move that was previously tricky to execute consistently.
Character-specific balance changes are also part of the patch, according to Noisy Pixel. Nintendo has not detailed every tweak, but the studio clearly used this update to polish both the new content and the existing competitive feel of the game.
