Derry Girls Creator Lisa McGee Directs New Netflix Mockumentary About Competitive Irish Dancing

Netflix has commissioned Jig, a six-part mockumentary from Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee that dives into competitive Irish dancing. Jig is a comedy mockumentary set in the competitive Irish dancing scene. The story centers on two best friends challenging a Florida operation described as 'slick, sponsored, seemingly unbeatable' at the world championships Yahoo.
Produced by Orchid Pictures, the show will film in Northern Ireland next year. Casting has not yet been announced, but the series promises to explore themes of competition and ambition within the sport Belfast Live.
This is McGee's third series with Netflix, following the hit comedy Derry Girls and the drama How to Get to Heaven From Belfast. The creator continues to expand her presence in television while developing multiple projects simultaneously Hollywood Reporter.
