Bombay High Court orders CBI to conduct fresh investigation into Disha Salian death.

Disha Salian reportedly died after falling from a residential building in Mumbai on June 8, 2020, while Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence six days later, on June 14.
Panna Singh alleged that Rajput had been planning a news conference to present evidence before his death, saying: “Sushant was going to hold a news conference and expose all these pieces of evidence, and we believe that because of this, he was murdered.”
Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu, Rajput’s cousin and a former Bihar minister, alleged that the then Maharashtra government had suppressed the matter and that attempts were made to destroy or conceal evidence—claims that have not been established by a court or investigation.
Rajput’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti also welcomed the development; in a video shared on X and Instagram, she expressed hope that the renewed inquiry would reveal the truth.
The Bombay High Court has ordered the CBI to register a formal complaint and conduct a fresh investigation into the 2020 death of Disha Salian, a celebrity manager whose fall from a Mumbai building has remained shrouded in questions for nearly five years. Hindustan Times reports that Salian's father, Satish Salian, has handed over a pen-drive to the CBI containing what he claims is an eyewitness statement about the incident. The move comes four years after Salian's death and just six days before actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead, fueling years of speculation about a possible connection—though investigators have not formally established one.
Rajput's family has long alleged he was murdered and that evidence was suppressed, claims that remain unproven. Times of India reports that the court's decision to order a fresh FIR registration has renewed the family's hopes that both deaths will finally be fully investigated. The court cautioned, however, that registering an FIR does not automatically make anyone an accused without sufficient grounds for suspicion.
Disha Salian, manager to actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a residential building in Mumbai. Six days later, on June 14, Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence. The proximity of the deaths fueled public speculation and conspiracy theories linking the two cases, though police have not established a formal connection between them.
Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu, Rajput's cousin and a former Bihar minister, has alleged that the then-Maharashtra government suppressed the matter and that attempts were made to destroy or conceal evidence. Free Press Journal reports that these claims have not been established by a court or investigation. Rajput's sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, welcomed the court's order, expressing hope that the renewed inquiry would finally reveal the truth.
Rajput's mother, Panna Singh, has alleged that the actor was planning to hold a news conference to present evidence before his death. She told investigators: "Sushant was going to hold a news conference and expose all these pieces of evidence, and we believe that because of this, he was murdered." The claim remains unverified and is part of the family's broader allegation that Rajput was murdered, not a suicide as officially concluded.
Goa Chronicle reports that Satish Salian, Disha's father, and his lawyer Nilesh Ojha have submitted a pen-drive to the CBI containing what they describe as key evidence related to Disha's death. Free Press Journal notes the pen-drive includes photographs, videos, and witness accounts that Salian believes proves his daughter was murdered rather than killed in an accidental fall.
The CBI is expected to examine the submitted materials as part of the court-ordered investigation. Satish Salian has maintained his position that eyewitness testimony in the pen-drive contradicts the original conclusion that his daughter's death was accidental. The fresh probe marks the first official CBI inquiry into Salian's death since the original investigation concluded in 2020.
